Lemańczyk/Golicki /Sarnecki Trio will be on tour in Japan from May 12 to 17. The band will perform in Tokyo, Ena and Kobe promoting their debut album “NYC Session” recorded with the guest appearance of a legendary guitarist Mike Stern. The concert tour is organized as part of the JAZZ PO POLSKU “Around the World” project.
5月にレマンチク/ゴリツキー/サルネツキ·トリオの来日コンサートツアーが始まります。この3人のミュージシャンは恵那·神戸で、そして東京では2回も伝説のギタリストのマイク·スターンをゲストに迎えたデビューアルバム「NYCセッション」をご紹介します。このコンサートツアーは5月12日から18日までプロジェクト「JAZZ PO POLSKU（ポーランド風ジャズ）『世界一周』」の「アジア編」として開催されます。
The formation, comprising of leading Polish jazz musicians: Piotr Lemańczyk (bass), Adam Golicki (drums) and Rafał Sarnecki (guitar) will launch the concert tour on May 12 in Tokyo Harename Club. Then musicians will perform on May 14 in Ena at the Gomouza Concert Hall and on May 16 in Kobe at the 100 Ban Concert Hall. At the end of the tour trio will perform again in Tokyo on May 17 at the Festival of Polish Culture. The concerts are part of the JAZZ PO POLSKU „Around the World” project and are the third visit of Polish musiciansin Japan. In previous years, the Mateusz Gawęda Trio (2023) and the Piotr Damasiewicz and Aleksandra Kryńska duo (2024) have performed.

Lemańczyk/Golicki/Sarnecki Trio was founded in 2023. Since then, the musicians have performed as a rhythm section for the Mike Stern Band, Randy Brecker and Grażyna Auguścik on their European Tours. Together, Sarnecki, Lemańczyk, and Golicki form a symbiotic relationship on stage, engaging in spirited musical dialogues and pushing each other to new heights of creativity. Whether exploring original compositions or reimagining jazz standards, their performances are marked by spontaneity, virtuosity, and a deep respect for the tradition of jazz. The trio will be promoting the “NYC Session” album recorded in new York with a guest appearance of Mike and Leni Stern.

The JAZZ PO POLSKU “Around the World” Project launched in May 2023 and has taken a form of an international concert tour. It is inspired by the feats of a Polish traveler, Paweł Edmund Strzelecki, who was the first Pole to circumnavigate the World in the 1800s. The Project has so far organized more than 170 events in 21 countries and on 3 continents. This year’s edition is focused on Asia and will be the summary of a decade-long presence of Polish jazz musicians within the JAZZ PO POLSKU Project in Asia.

The JAZZ PO POLSKU Foundation is a non-governmental organization presenting the wide spectrum of skills of Polish artists from the younger generation. It helps in establishing international cultural collaboration and integrates artistic environments from various countries. It strives to refresh and reinforce the image of Polish jazz music in the consciousness of the foreign audience. Since 2012 the JAZZ PO POLSKU Project has organized over 500 events in 25 countries. These events involved over 200 musicians. The organized projects have also included performances of Polish and foreign artists inside Poland.

このバンドは2023年に結成されました。それ以来このトリオはランディ·ブレッカー、マイク·スターンやグラジナ·アウグスチックなどのスター達と協力しています。2024年1月にはニューヨークでゲストにマイク·スターンとレニ·スターンを迎えCD「NYC Session」を収録しました。彼らの音楽はロックでありながら、並ならぬハーモニーと美しいメロディーを用いたメインストリーム·ジャズだと言えます。エレガントなサウンドと多様なムードのレパートリーが彼らの音楽の個性を創り出します。
CD「NYC Session」はその名の通りニューヨークで収録されました。素材音源はクイーンズ区にあるスピン·スタジオで登録されました。録音の担当者はB.B.キングやパット·メセニーなどとの協力で有名な伝説のロイ·ヘンドリクソンでした。ヘンドリクソンが天才ギタリストを収録したというユニークな経験が彼を選んだ最も重要な理由でした。ギター·トリオの場合はギターの音源が豊富でベースとドラムの周波数と心地よく調和させることが重要でした。アルバムには７曲が収録されています。そのうち６曲はバンドメンバーのオリジナル曲です。そしてその他に人気の定番曲「Green Dolphin Streetグリーン·ドルフィンストリート」のアレンジ曲もあります。CDにこの曲を加えたことはとても象徴的なことです。なぜならその作者はジャズ·スタンダードを数多く作曲しハリウッドで成功したポーランド出身の作曲家ブロニスワフ·カペルだからです。そしてCDには様々な種類の音楽があります。ムーディーで広がりのあるバラード「Waltz for A」や前述の穏やかな「Green Dolphin Street」があります。またマイク·スターンのブルース·ソロを含む「Blue Chick」のようにとてもエネルギッシュな曲もあります。変化に富んだハーモニーの「Untitled Story」のような曲もあります。楽器の種類は限られていますがCDには豊かな曲調とサウンドがあります。
２つの曲ではスペシャルゲストのマイク·スターンとレニ·スターンが演奏しています。マイクはジャズ音楽史において一番評価されているギタリストです。マイクの作曲を分析することですでに何世代ものギタリスト達がギターを学びました。1980年代にはマイルス·デイヴィスの有名なエレクトリック·バンドのメンバーでした。彼の妻レニ·スターンはギターだけでなくアフリカの楽器「ンゴニ」を演奏することで「Buchta」という曲にマジカルでエスニックなカラーを与えました。マイクとレニは２回のポーランドツアーで14回もこのトリオと一緒に演奏しました。彼らが収録に参加したことは偶然ではありませんでした。このように何回もセッションしたことで音楽面でもうまく調和しプライベートでも仲良くなりました。
Piotr Lemańczyk – the backbone of the trio, provides the warm, resonant tones of the electric bass that underpin the group’s sound. His impeccable sense of timing and deep understanding of jazz harmony set the foundation for each piece. Piotr has performed and recorded with such prominent artists as: Walter Smith III, Jerry Bergonzi, Seamus Blake, Dave Kikoski, Tim Hagans, Brian Melvin, Gary Novak, Avishai Cohen (trumpet player) and Soweto Kinch. He has recorded six original albums which have received excellent reviews in such magazines as Downbeat, Jazztimes, and Jazz Forum. Besides his work as a bandleader he is also a member of many leading Polish jazz groups and the only European in the American group called Beatlejazz.

Adam Golicki is currently one of the most in demand jazz drummers in Poland. His impeccable sense of rhythm and impeccable technique lay the groundwork for the trio’s intricate compositions and complex time signatures. He has performed and recorded with such artists as Mike Stern, Urszula Dudziak, Kuba Stankiewicz, Maciej Sikala, Grzegorz Nagorski. He is also a member of the Confusion Project – a piano trio which tours world wide on a regular basis. As a bandleader he has released three albums. His most recent record Reflections was released in 2021 by Day Music. The album has received critical acclaim and garnered a dedicated following.

Rafał Sarnecki – Rafał Sarnecki – guitarist, composer, arranger from Warsaw, Poland. In 2005 he left his hometown to study jazz in New York where he spent most of his career. Living in NY he was involved in a variety of New York based groups including the Lucas Pino No-Net Nonet (2009-2019) which had a monthly residency at the famous Smalls Jazz Club. As a leader of his own projects he organized 15 tours in Asia. He has also performed in North and South Americas and most European countries. Currently he is living in Warsaw. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Music in Warsaw and the Music Academyin Łódź . Rafal has recorded five CDs as a leader. Three of them: Songs From a New Place (2008), Cat’s Dream (2014) and A View From The Treetop (2022) were nominated for the Fryderyk award, the Polish equivalent of a Grammy. The Madman Rambles Again (2011, Fresh Sound) was selected as among the best jazz albums of the year by Hi – Fi magazine and All About Jazz.
ラファウ·サルネツキ－ ジャズギタリスト、作曲家、編曲家。数少ないポーランド人の音楽家としてアメリカ合衆国で成功し、10年以上滞在して音楽を制作する。そしてランディー·ベッカー、マイク·スターン、ロン·ブレイク、ジョエル·フラムやベン·ウェンデルなどのアーティストとセッションする。2009～2019年はアメリカ合衆国で名の知れたグループ「Lucas Pino No-Net Nonet」のメンバーだった。また自分の音楽プロジェクトのリーダーとしてアジアで15のツアーを実施する。北アメリカ、南アメリカおよび多くのヨーロッパ諸国でもコンサートを行う。５つのオリジナルのCDを収録し、そのうち３つ（Song From a New Place – 2008、 Cat’s Dream – 2014と A View From The Treetop – 2022）は「フレデリック」賞にノミネートされる。２つ目のCD「The Madman Rambles Again (2011)」は有名な「All About Jazz」の編集部により「2011年の最も注目すべき12のアルバム」の1つに選ばれ受賞する。2021年には博士教授の学位を取得する。
