Visegrad Jazz Band, an international band consisting of artists from Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia will perform on November 13-17 in Poland. Musicians will visit Łódź, Zielona Góra, Gorzów Wielkopolski and Warsaw. The project is an initiative to establish artistic cooperation between musicians from the Visegrad Group countries.
The ensemble, formed especially for the occasion, includes renowned musicians – Radovan Tariška (saxophone, Slovakia), Rafał Sarnecki (guitar, Poland), Tomáš Baroš (double bass, Czechia) and Balázs Bágyi (drums, Hungary). The band will give 16 concerts, four in each country. In February the project visited Czechia, Slovakia in May and Hungary in September.
In Poland they start on November 13 in Łódź, where they will perform at the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz’s Music Academy and lead a masterclass. The, the group will travel to Zielona Góra to perform at the Zajazd Kultury on November 15. On November 16, Visegrad Jazz Group will visit Gorzów Wielkopolski and Pod Filarami club. The tour will end on September 17.11 in Warsawa, where you can listen to them in one of the most prestigious clubs in Poland – Jassmine.
„The project aims to strengthen cooperation among artists and organizations from the V4 countries, both now and in the near future. As part of the project, we intend to create a unique ensemble that will include leading representatives of the current jazz scene of Czechia, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. The artists will perform a repertoire prepared exclusively for this occasion, inspired by the culture of each country, as well as current music” says Jakub Krzeszowski, President of the Board at the JAZZ PO POLSKU Foundation.
