Visegrad Jazz Band (Tariska-Sarnecki-Baros-Bagyi), an international band consisting of artists from Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia will perform on September 11-14 in Hungary. Musicians will visit Budapest, Pecs, Szekesfehervar and Visegrad. The project is an initiative to establish artistic cooperation between musicians from the Visegrad Group countries.
The ensemble, formed especially for the occasion, includes renowned musicians, like Radovan Tariska (saxophone, Slovakia), Rafał Sarnecki (guitar, Poland), Tomas Baros (double bass, Czechia) and Balazs Bagyi (drums, Hungary). The band will give 16 concerts, four in each country. In February the project visited Czechia, and Slovakia in May. From September 11 to 14 the band will tour in Hungary. They start on September 11 in Budapest, where they will perform in Opus Jazz Club and lead a masterclass at the Bela Bartok Conservatory a day later. Then the Group will travel to Pecs, the home town of Balazs Bagyi – the drummer and composer, to perform at the E78 Concert Hall. On September 13, Visegrad Jazz Group will visit Szekesfehervar and its Cultural Center. The tour will end on September 14.09 in Visegrad, where you can listen to them in the City Hall.
„The project aims to strengthen cooperation among artists and organizations from the V4 countries, both now and in the near future. As part of the project, we intend to create a unique ensemble that will include leading representatives of the current jazz scene of Czechia, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary. The artists will perform a repertoire prepared exclusively for this occasion, inspired by the culture of each country, as well as current music” says Jakub Krzeszowski, President of the Board at the JAZZ PO POLSKU Foundation.
